Yeah, sorta like Russiagate and Ukrainegate. We only have one left leaning article so far. We don't have the text of the bill.

/e People on both sides of the abortion issue... lie. Media on both sides... lie. Politicians on both sides lie.

It's interesting to me that you defer to things like "Russiagate" and "Ukrainegate", or "media bias" in response to things like this. Is this an observation you've experienced about yourself in other contexts?

I'm still on post #150.

That article is just a big fat scare tactic. Don't know why anyone brought it up.

Please continue, because I can't follow your train of thought here. Are you saying that doctors have a conflict of interest that is making them say the procedure is impossible?

Its a leftist hack news source and the article is 90% emotional outrage as it is.

You guys KNOW I type slow. Have mercy. LOL

Ok, so we're good then. " A physician who does all of the following is NOT subject to criminal prosecution, damages in any civil
action, or professional disciplinary action, for a violation of
this chapter:"

I don't see the problem. Or the reason for the article itself, except to scare people. The docs have an out. It's right there... three conditions.

The most charitable interpretation of the bill is that the authors haven't done the most basic research into what is and isn't a possible medical procedure.

The least charitable interpretation is they are totally ignorant and attempting to open a path to prosecute doctors for removing an ectopic pregnancy.

Condition 3 says implant in the uterus IF possible.

Scare tactic article.

An out which includes having them attempt to reimplant the embryo into the uterus? That's not an "out". It's yet another in a string of "let's see how far we can take a state abortion law" bills being either proposed or passed around the country. And one in particular which ignores accepted medical practice.

I understand your post in #150. I'm just commenting on your initial reaction and an observation, which was very "No, but...", as opposed to just taking a moment to find out what is in the bill. It's an interesting observation, I think.

Like I said, the most charitable interpretation is they didn't do basic research to see it isn't possible.

FFS - This is medically impossible. Source: Me asking the doctors if it was possible when it happened to my wife the first time (it's happened twice).

It cannot be reimplanted after it has already implanted elsewhere (like the Fallopian tubes). That's the difference between implanting fertilized eggs and this. Those fertilized eggs have not implanted anywhere. An ectopic pregnancy has.

This is a hill I will fucking die on.

And the ELI5 version: https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/4hmqwk/eli5_why_cant_an_ectopic_pregnancy_be_transferred/

I'm sensing a lot of understandable emotion and history here. Ectopic pregnancies are not joke, let alone two.
