i accept that fix as an acceptable viewpoint, but don't honestly share it. my opinion is they snagged a mid level staffer, someone with knowledge of the happenings in the situation room that's not there personally. someone who can say with confidence that the president isnt being catered to on all issues and is being give the runaround on his worst impulses.

However for the life of me I can't understand the disbelief, even among the trumpsters.

1. there have been turnovers from staffers that vocally gave pushback to the agenda
2. there have been vocal witnesses to the chaos from different stands of the Trump team inside the whitehouse once they leave (Omarosa, Mooch, Spicer even)
3. the campaign was built on the idea that Washington is populated by swamp creatures, and the whitehouse didn't purge literally every person from the staff

putting these together the NYT op ed is honestly a compilation of shit we all could have surmised. Anyone who's ever worked for a boss with ever shifting ideas of what they want knows sometimes u let them come full circle or wait for them to change their mind, temper their stances, etc.

if i was putting my money on a number, roulette style, i'd go for someone on Kelly's personal staff. someone who is in the drafting memos and forwarding emails game.

either way the NYT deserves an eyeroll for printing a super long version of what we all know, with a few details sprinkled in about foreign policy debacles that never came to pass. its also transparently designed to piss off Trump and start a mole hunt, which they can then further report on.
