...I believe it to be moral cowardice of the highest order to say out of one side of the mouth that abortion is wrong and out of the other side of the mouth to say it should be the woman's choice .

I say it's wrong to let an individual's morals rule over other's decisions

No it's not. It is heavily debated and dependent on your definition of life.

People with an agenda can debate it all they want. When two people have sex and create a new life the result is crystal clear.

Glad to see you grasp the minutia of this issue.

Well whose choice should it be?  It is either the choice of individual women or the choice of a group of men, either/or.

I'm not arguing with you on that point, it is my agreement.  It is a personal issue if you believe that it is a moral issue.  But it is an act of privacy while there is only one human being involved, and that is the woman.  A fertilized egg is not a human being anyway, only in the most fallacious of reasoning.  Sure the egg can become something, like a tree can become a table, but chopping down a tree isn't destroying a table...it just is not the same thing.  You can't kill something that doesn't exist yet.

You have to believe in some mystical transfusion of a soul into the egg at conception, and we just don't legislate mystic beliefs.

Does anybody have any problem with Roe v. Wade or have any questions about it?

We know what you guys do when you get power.  We fight wars on poverty, you fight wars against the poor.

I don't believe in a soul at all. I'm coming from a more scientific view than you are. The brain is a feature of an organism that developes with maturity. The fertilized egg is still that same organism before it reaches that stage in development.

Eventually. But individual life is not created at the moment they have sex.

Why is the fact that life starts out small so beyond the reach of some people to grasp? There is something psychological going on there, it reminds me a lot of climate deniers.

We don't just pop out of a penis with brain waves and a heart beat.
Evolution has set up this whole process that doesn't take a biologist to get.

The fuck? You just literally argued with yourself there...

Unless you're implying that an individual life starts before any discerning individual characteristics develop? If so then how is it individual?

Than let it be wrong for anyone to object as I cut your limbs off?

You're quite the devisive man as of late. Living in a swing state really has you in an "us" vs. "them" mentality, doesn't it?

Kind of a me vs. them. I don't really see much of an "us" in the Democratic party.

Honestly I'm not even sure if I'm going to vote unless there is important local stuff on the ballot.

I'm trying to provoke argument and maybe even some vitriol. Things have been too nice around here lately :D
