Both Trump supporters and Trump opponents seem to lap up the line that Moore is the 'trumpism' candidate and he 'won' either way, but the reality of course is that Trump is a RINO and aligned with the establishment ideologically, and this was a win for a far-right candidate who will be outflanking Trump in time. Trump may have some element of the tea party lurching monstrosity to face like the RNC/McCain riled up in his failed attempt. I've been quick to point out how the left has created their #Resistance movement which is analogous to the tea party's unruly radicals, and has long since far surpassed them in terms of radicalization and uncontrollability and hysteria (and violence), but the far-right fringe of the anti-establishment Trump movement might come back to bite him now that he's showing his RINO stripes.
trump isnt a RINO just because he supported strange instead of moore. moore is far far faaar right fringe candidate. who says that strange wasnt conversative enough, just beacuse his over-the-top opponent was even more conservative by a lot?
also keep in mind that trump has a huge self-interest in a functioning GOP majority in the senate. the last months of failed obamacare repeal attemps have shown quite clearly he cant get shit done with the current senate makeup. he clearly cant have any interest in making the GOP senate faction even more dysfunctional by adding an anti-establishment candidate whose primary concern is stirring up his own party's establishment instead of getting republican legislation passed.
even if moore might be closer to trump ideologically than strange, strange would have been brought trump closer to legislative achievements than moore. and that is, and should be, trumps priority.
