Every great power in history always dealt with internal ethnic groups seeking different things. Rome, Egypt, America, China, Britain, etc. This idea that immigration causes the downfall of empires or that internal strife spells doom for a country is just a talking point used by powerful people to shift the blame to less powerful people. It's the billionaire taking 7.5 slices of pizza and then telling you that the immigrant is going to steal your half a slice.
