my point is losing weight by changing what you eat is incredibly easy compared to quitting other addictions entirely

and certainly, addiction to food is how they got to 600 pounds in the first place

So this contradicts your statement that "people are having hard time because of a society that tells them it's impossible to lose weight".
And you are naive about addiction. Absolutely nothing about overcoming an addiction is easy.

/edit

You can overcome your cocaine addiction easy-peasy by not doing cocaine. Easy right!~?

Isn't this the perfect argument to show that overcoming food addiction is more difficult than cigarettes, alcohol and drugs?

If there is a scientifically verified medical fact, I'm sure as hell that there's more proof to support it than the anecdotes of 3000 people.

do you think doctors are lying?

Depends on what they are saying, I suppose.

Can you show me a scientific study that, black on white, states that "anyone can lose weight" while covering the physiological and psychological aspects of weight loss? Just one study please. It can even be posted on one of those 90s table layout HTML websites.

Did you? And the analogy is apt either way.

this isn't like cigarettes, alcohol or drugs where you try to quit completely, it's just a matter of changing what you eat - no one is insisting that people stop eating entirely
there are plenty of delicious healthy alternatives to the greasy foods people are eating these days

are we really having this conversation? you want a scientific study that says it is possible for humans to reduce their body weight?

No, I want a study that says anyone can lose weight. You're the one who insists that it exists.

what's the difference? if science tells us how the human body functions and part of that includes changes to weight that correspond to what we eat then how does this not apply to all human bodies?

what do you believe would happen to every human if we stuck them into a concentration camp and limited their food supply? you don't have to answer that btw, we already know the answer with the absence of obese jews in those camps during the holocaust

i said it's difficult to quit hard drugs completely
quitting delicious greasy foods by comparison is much easier because there are delicious healthy alternatives that will satisfy your appetite

where is the confusion?

How does it affect the 50% of fat people with big bones or the other 50% of people with "glandular" disorders?
