There's no federal registry for guns, and you don't need any sort of licence to buy an AR-15. If you buy from a gun store you have to pass a background check, but in many states you can sell your guns privately.

A federal registry makes sense, but what would it accomplish? The buying and selling of guns privately doesn't really matter either. If I buy a gun legally from a shop, and then turn it around and sell it to someone for cash - no one will ever know. Unless that gun shows up in a criminal act.

the whole truck talking point is absolutely retarded to begin with. trucks are obviously NOT objects that are specifically designed to KILL. their primary purpose is a completely different one. in fact, companies spend huge amounts of money to make them safer.
not surprised simple minded gun nuts would consider this a valid analogy though...

another cucky vitriolic fender post. what else is new.
Guns being designed to "kill", or more accurately "to shoot bullets", does not make all analogies invalid.

Nor does it make gun control valid. Guns should be useful for killing.
Guns "killing" or shooting, or being wielded to deter and neutralize threats are legitimate purposes.

ah, the usual strawman... you probably don't even notice it anymore since you do that almost every single time: misrepresent what was stated and then make some vague statement about your misrepresentation, acting like you just refuted an argument.
simple question: do you think the truck analogy is valid or not?

if so, please elaborate. if not, get off my dick already...

oh look, fender aka heinrich von goebbels, descendant of joseph with more unwarranted homophobic commentary, right in line with his usual hatred:

Do you not know how to read in context?

You were mocking people and dismissing gun analogies as invalid because 'muh cars are meant for driving, my boots are made for walkin' ' and 'guns r scary. they R made to KILL!!!1"

Guns and other things are similar in some ways and different in others.

The intended or designed purpose of an item is not a valid reason to pompously reject analogies between things.
i wasn't saying you were literally rejecting every analogy in the history of mankind.

The truck observation is true. its valid for some purposes.

i do, and i recognise a strawman when i see one - really speaks for itself that you're now desperately trying to blame my reading comprehension for this obvious dishonesty of yours.

wrong again, i dismissed ONE particular analogy and provided my reasoning for it.

again trying to generalise the issue - why don't you just stay on topic and stop building your flimsy strawmen?

the killing of people was the common theme while comparing guns to trucks. the fact that one item is designed and optimised to do just that, while the other one is not, IS a valid reason to reject that silly talking point.
that you actually lack the common sense to realise that is almost pitiful.

i never claimed you did. however, you said "all analogies" when i clearly only mentioned and criticised ONE. trying to defend your strawman with yet another fallacious claim - this is getting ridiculous...

haha, exactly what i predicted: a desperate little deflection. you just can't admit it, can you?

clearly you aren't, i would never make excuses for such a moronic talking point. well done, so far this is your sharpest observation in this thread, my little friend.

such a waste of time talking to you.
pointing out facts and relaying my opinion on the question directly is a "desperate deflection"
discussing why your type of dismissal is wrong is a 'strawman'

Time and again its the same trashy responses. personal attacks and hostility in place of an argument.
nitpicking the language and making personal attacks instead of addressing the point i am obviously making.

grow up.

Trucks aren’t designed to kill people, they’re designed to be driven. Unfortunately, some people decide to drive them into people, killing them.
