and there are evidently more muslims who stick to a literal interpretation of their holy book and use it as inspiration for terrorism and intolerance than there are christians/jews/hindus/bhuddists/atheists doing the same with their religion (or lack thereof in the case of atheists).
It all comes down to where they are located, and the politics of the region.
We've been systematically destabilizing the middle east for nearly a decade. Keeping the cost of exporting their resources low and keeping brutal dictators in power.
Hell, most of the radicalization that occurred in the past few decades was a direct result of the United States giving the current terrorist groups radicalizing material so they could fight a religious proxy war against the evil atheist soviets.
