I will repeat what I said:
The blockade began in 2007, after Hamas violently seized control of Gaza, not in 2006 and certainly not before. Israel withdrew every soldier and settler from Gaza in 2005. No occupation, no presence. Full exit.
So by the exit Israel had no political sway, no power and left Gaza completely alone. That's absurd and just not true.

And then what happened?
Instead of turning Gaza into a functioning self-governed entity, Hamas chose to turn it into a military base. Rockets were fired at Israel starting in 2001, even before the withdrawal. That means the aggression began while Israel was still inside Gaza, and it only escalated once Israel left.
So you're helping me a bit here making my point for me. Israel occupied Gaza and there was revolts and ressitance to this occupation and when Israel left the resistance started to grow, because now the army was not breathing as much down the necks of the people they oppress. That kinda makes sense doesn't it?

Now, to the claim about “controlling air, water, land”, let’s be accurate. Gaza shares a border with Egypt, which also restricts movement in and out. Why? Because Hamas is a terror organization, not a sovereign democratic government. There is no free airport, no seaport, and no full autonomy, not because of some evil Israeli plan, but because the entity ruling Gaza refuses to disarm, refuses to recognize Israel, and continues to fire rockets and build tunnels.
Yes it's morally bankrupt and disgusting that egypt doesn't take refugees and civilians in. We are not debating Egypt though are we?. We are also not debating whether Hamas is a terror organization. We agree there. Where we disagree, is that Israel gave Hamas full autonomny and freedom to build up Gaza without any interference from Israel. That's just not true.

Electricity and water? Gaza gets fuel, electricity, and humanitarian aid through Israel, even during wars. No country in the world would be expected to supply a hostile regime with utilities while being attacked by it. And yet, Israel does.
Why would gaza need that if they had freedom to just build it themselves. Oh right blockades.

Saying “Israel steps on their neck and they should be grateful” is cheap rhetoric. Israel left Gaza, and Hamas responded with war. What you call “control” is actually containment. What you call “oppression” is self-defense. And if Hamas changed its approach, Israel would change its posture. It’s that simple
No it's not cheap rhetoric your argument that Israel could just flatten Gaza completely and wipe them from the planet if they wanted to is cheap and straight up homicidal.
Containment is control...
Oppression cannot be self defence. Israel cannot claim self defence when they are an occupying force.
If Hamas changes their approach another group of orphans or fathers or mothers or sisters, brothers, cousins, friends will take their place because of Israels occupation. Israel is partly (close to fully) responsible for the circle of violence in Gaza.
