Yeah, if it looks like hes losing expect Trump to plant doubts about the quality of the election. But even in a hotly contested election hes not going to have the institutional support to overturn the final verdict without the supreme court ruling in his favor.
Biden winning the electoral college because electors overturn the democratic verdict of the voters in their states would be as close to a coup as you could get without tanks in the streets of DC, lol.
The final verdict by the voters should determine the outcome of the election, not the political party of the swing state governors, the mood of individual electors or the question of who has more institutional support.
Imagine the inverse scenario: Trump has narrowly lost the EC, and then convinces a handful of electors to vote for him, against the outcome in their state. Would you (or any other liberal) accept this outcome or consider it an (in your own words) "rock solid constitutional way to swing the election"?
