Being in a car wreck is the biggest by far. Homicide and suicide numbers are separate statistics. Homicide is in the top 4, suicide not being part of that.
They do have to worry about being shot. 2 kids were shot in my high school in 1998 when I was there. Seen a girl stab another one too. I went to a pretty rough place compared to what kids in the suburbs experience.
there's 2 things at play here that make a huge difference between what you're saying and what the skinhead is saying.
1. of course kids "have to worry" about things, from statistically unlikely gun violence to statistically more likely gun violence to what major you might want to be in college and what courses that means you should sign up for in high school.
2. you grew up in a rough place, just so that 15 years later as that place has gotten statistically more safe a girl from an incredibly safe place by comparison could draw a false equivalency of the danger of growing up in both places so you could get intersectional support for an issue that disproportionately effects people like you.
these dumb kids dont have open minds, they dont want action they want their action or nothing. they spent time calling people idiots for wanting more armed guards a week before an armed guard prevented a school shooting. they think the only way forward is to bring the NRA down and force insane ineffectual legislation, all from a stupid flawed perspective based in the ignorance of youth. i refrained from calling these kids what they are for a few weeks after they experienced tragedy but the mourning period is over. This skinhead is nothing but a hyperbolic bulldyke. Both those snot nosed punks she's always running around with are disrespectful and ineffectual to their own cause. I hope they all 3 talk as much as they can, they're the worst thing there is for furthering gun control. I hope the eventual punch they take in the mouth doesnt stop them from shooting their own cause in the foot.
