What Sowell said is a giant straw-man, so I addressed the underlying philosophy behind it.

There's no point in engaging his words as they're written. It would be like engaging a creationist in terms of "How can evolutionists believe a rock evolved into a human eyeball!". It would be totally unproductive because nobody actually believes what is claimed.

then do you agree that it's not greed to want to keep the money you earn

Its sad that somebody who graduated high school still thinks the gold standard is a viable option.

Depends to what extent you have the desire, to what need there is around you, and how it was earned.

Quoting fallacies is below even high school rhetoric. Especially when you clearly can't apply the knowledge.

There's a mandatory minimum payment to be involved. Its the same as a capitalist market but the prices are higher.

It's actually considered capitalism in a sense that they have reduced health care costs / citizen, through it. Creating more economic freedom and possibilities.

/e: Laissez-faire type of capitalism doesn't seem to work well in health care. You can look at how my country changed towards a more controlled free market health care system in 2006. I looks pretty genius if you look at the concept. Yet the free market component is not giving better care and prices have gone up.

Low price free market systems stopped existing after the 1960s with the introduction of medicare welfare state systems.
