Probably because he was eating a lot less because he didn't want to carry it.
He's still got a long way to go but great start. It gets harder the more you lose.

i've seen youtube clips of that show about 600 pound people and the common theme i found amongst those that failed to lose weight is that they were surrounded by enablers telling them they're perfectly fine as they continue to eat themselves to death
