Take my word for it...it was called the red menace. I have no idea when Wikipedia decided it was the red scare.
All I can tell ya is that all the adults and all the media (like 3 TV channels, and the radio stations, and newspapers) were using the term red menace.

/e I grew up in the end of that era. I was born in 56.

Yeah, I do have a very poor grasp of the bastardized version of English that's spoken today.

/e I was alive when this crap happened. I don't care what Wikipedia says about this... I was there. Both my parents were born in 1925.
