The redacted parts only apply to the general public.

The people that needed the affidavit when it was relevant weren't looking at redacted documents.

The DOJ head Mr Garland went on TV to explain why he released part of the affidavit already, he also has explained several times why he redacted certain parts

you should find the videos of him tbh but if you want the coles notes he basically said the public really wants to know what the FBI was looking for it was trump humpers going off about bullshit so Garland literally released it to let them know they are idiots. It is also basically a precedent to NOT release the names of witnesses particularly when the witness is like Trumps daughter...
