"Trump obviously is taking credit for a lot of this, as almost any president would do, but the things that affect the market right now aren't things that have been put in place over the last six months," said Randy Frederick, vice president of trading and derivatives at the Schwab Center for Financial Research.

Your point?

The market is riding high partially due to anticipation that Trump and congress will eventually get to deregulation, simplifying the tax code and infrastructure spending.

being president after a big recession obviously means that there are larger percentage gains during your tenure than when coming into office during the middle of a boom.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump signed into law Wednesday morning legislation that levies new sanctions against Russia and restricts Trump's own ability to ease sanctions in place against Moscow, a White House official said.

The bill is one of the first major pieces of legislation that was sent to Trump's desk, and it represents a rebuke of the President by giving Congress new veto power to block him from removing Russia sanctions.

Even before Trump signed the bill, the measure prompted Russian President Vladimir Putin to retaliate against the US over the new sanctions, which Congress levied over Russian interference in the 2016 US election, as well as Russia's annexation of Crimea and aggression in Syria.

When it goes into law whether he signs it or not, it's not really a hard decision. Though it is funny that he was pretty much backed into a corner on it.

It's been on his desk since the 28th. I like how how he didn't have a big media spectacle of him signing it like he usually does, instead he dragged his feet and had his press secretary claim they were going to go through a "review" process. A "legal" process. And as of right now, according to congress.gov, it's still not signed.
