You’re right, Libya scenario much better.
We need to stop thinking along the lines that deposing people that we don’t like automatically brings good guys. A lot of the times it’s objectively better for the normal people living there to have some regime that’s stable vs alternative.
Iran is a bit of a case of its own. The royalty was organically couped away by the people, to install a populist government. Which was then couped away by the West to install a puppet regime. This regime, in turn, was couped away by islamists who got popular support under false premises (for example, there was lots of support for the Iranian Revolution of 1979 among liberal female students who failed to see the looming theocracy).
Your framing is still disingenuous. The recent protests across Iran weren't some astroturfed meddling by the West, there's genuine grassroots opposition to Iran's mullah regime. And considering the strong culture and long history of Iran, as well as their access to decent funding from their oil should the embargos be lifted, there is good reason to assume that Iran wouldn't go the way of Libya.

Openly hostile tends to be the response to open hostilities hypocrite.
The primary focus for Iran's hostilities is Israel. Yes, they rail against the US all the time, but that's just words. Our ally against whom they're taking actual, tangible actions is Israel. The mullahs constantly demonize Israel and vow to exterminate them. What kind of hostility has Israel ever shown toward Iran to deserve this vitriol?
On top of that, Iran is engaged in a long-running proxy war against Saudi Arabia for supremacy in the Gulf region. In this context, they're stirring shit up in Iraq (and already did so in the 80s, long before any Western invasion turned things from bad to worse). And also in Yemen. So this notion that Iran is a peaceful force which is only punching back against those who wronged them (i.e. the West), and otherwise coexists peacefully with its neighbors, is patently false.
