I don't watch Fox so I don't know what they say about CNN. But I have made my own observation about those who watch CNN and honestly they aren't much better than Fox-viewers as described by you. Just on the other end of the political divide.

I wouldn't say stupid. I would say that many people missed the memo about not believing everything you see on TV and trying to determine whether or not something you hear about in the news actually affects you personally (it almost never does.)

That's not overwhelming, that's barely a statistical difference.

I guess, but the overall sentiment is that they are not mentally capable of determining fact from fiction on their own. Both parties act like this.
