1) This is an exceptional speech because of the way in which it attacks both the former president and his allies and supporters.
2) Trump did this all the time, it is not "the first time" a sitting president did it.

You might get the impression from the media coverage of Trump that he did it all the time, but he simply didn't. Its unprecedented. Trump never staged a speech just to call out Obama. Now Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush etc have probably at some point made bad remarks about their predecessors in some speech about another topic. Trump definitely did somewhere in a rambling rally monologue. But the explicit focus of a formal presidential speech being the demonization of a former president is simply unheard of. Its quite an escalation

When Donald trump spoke of “the radical left” he named specific politicians, namely Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Hillary Clinton, what have you. He would say these specific positions are doing this, and this is why they are corrupt and radical. He did not say the American citizens who support these politicians are (terrorist, extremist, radicals, whatever). If he would refer to the voters, it would be in the context of, “this mayor is ruining this city, and the people in the city keep voting for him/her. Maybe they like living in a crime ridden shit hole, I don’t know!”

Be real.

You would know this if you have actually listened to him speak, not a few 10 second clips of half sentences melded together on a loop being false framed by your preferred news source.

Motherfker it was literally my job to listen to that bloated, drooling fascist speak. I listened to countless hours of him speaking. Don't try to gaslight me. He spoke about huge swaths of the population as being "leftist radicals" who want to destroy america. From antifascists to democrat voters.
