I would mean make laws or grants for people from red states to come and pay for their doctor bill for the abortion or simply just loosen abortion laws. For example in Ontario the first 3 abortions are free.. there was a blue state thta was saying come here we got abortions np shit like that is good to do.

They can subsidize it. We already have an arms race of across-the-border abortion services against the texas law. Some of those programs already exist, so they're doing something already, but I expect it to be thrown into overdrive in the next few months. California can fund its underground railroad for pregnant trans men and Texas can deputize runaway slut catchers.

all polling before he was actively sabotaged by the dems establishment indicated that bernie would beat trump MORE comprehensively in a general election than biden would - and it makes a lot of sense too: not only would he have the support of the dems, as he's running under their banner, he also would have mobilised lots of young people to vote. on many key issues (health care, worker rights, foreign policy, money in politics...) he's is an ACTUAL alternative to the same old in both parties, and he has the receipts to prove it, not a blemished political record full of contradictions and corporate bidding like biden.

regarding the second point, bernie was the only one who even laid out a plan how to reform campaign financing, and has a believable interest in doing it, which is the only way to even have a shot at pushing through legislation that serves the people and not corporations. aiming high and getting at least some things (student loan forgiveness, minimum wage...) done is better than aiming low under the guise of "bipartisanship" and still getting shafted and maligned by republicans who would never even think about compromising once back in power.

Honestly, after reading more of the text, this seems like a leak from the conservative side to lock in the text of Alito's opinion and hold the 5 conservative votes together as Roberts tries to peel someone off with a compromise decision involving the liberals to preserve some of Roe.

If Roberts wanted a say in the decision, all he has to do is vote in the majority and then assign the opinion to himself, like he did with the Obamacare ruling.

more is not needed to debunk your moronic, science-denying talking points. the vaccination / seatbelt analogy is a pretty good one. both minor inconveniences, both not absolute guarantees against death, but still common sense measures that offer significant protection from severe harm.

we've been over the numbers (how many times less likely infection, severe cases, deaths... are if you're vaccinated) multiple times, and you have repeatedly proven immune to facts and reason, and you will predictably never learn (not just due to intellectual, but also ideological reasons) - but that doesn't change the facts.

regarding abortions: learn to read. i wish they weren't necessary, i don't like abortions, and i support measures to prevent the need for them. all i'm saying is that the authoritarian way (which you unsurprisingly support) is not only wrong because you don't get to tell other people how to live their lives, it also does NOTHING to actually prevent abortions, it just makes them less safe and leads to additional suffering. it also disproportionally affects minority / poor people. meaning you're not just cruel and bigoted, but also ineffective.

If there are 5 votes for a flat over-turn of Roe, there's no space for him to do that maneuver again.

If he becomes the 6th, he can write the opinion as narrowly as possible, to eviscerate Roe v Wade as little as possible.

I think this was a liberal leak so that clinics and legislatures can prepare for the loss.
