teachers are humans, yes. teachers have always done that, yes. teachers in a free country should be allowed to do that within reason. my point is not that there weren't ANY teachers who ever mentioned ANY issues concerning gender or such - my point is that the myth of teachers systematically indoctrinating kids with harmful knowledge is made up culture war bullshit. desantis' attack on free speech is a "solution" in search of a problem, it's red meat for his bigoted base, and NOT something that makes any practical sense, quite the opposite - and it's terrible precedent.

You leave your child with piratical strangers, with the faith that they will do their best to educate your child based on regulated materials.
These teachers are a part of a teachers union that is predominate democrat supporting.

Two problems, no three problems.
1. Parents are leaving their children in the hands of complete strangers to the parents.
2. If a problem was raised the democrat backed teachers have a huge packing of legal support.
3. Problems are rarely raised because these teachers don't see any issue in spread what they believe to be true.

Kentanji 'knows' better than you do, that level of smug 'im better than you' attitude is the real problem.

Would you want a teacher to teach your child that they should grow up never questioning and only accepting.
Sounds like a great start to a dystopian fictional novel.

Teachers just like supreme court justices have verified material that has worked and is what's used to best find a resolution.
They should not and can not start doing what They believe is best. That's now how the system was built. You can't just run around spreading 'facts' based on emotions rather than long proven logic.

broadly speaking, the american education system sucks balls, especially for the underprivileged - this forum if full of evidence for that btw.

however, what you are describing there is not addressing any of the real issue that lead to bad education outcomes, but the made up cultural bullshit that right-wing echo chambers perpetuate. religious brainwashing was an actual thing, teaching the bible over science happened and it negatively impacted children (and unfortunately still does). the dystopian scenario that you and goon-shill are painting, however, is entirely imaginary. there is no "indoctrination" happening regarding gender or sexuality, that's why you people always have to resort to hypotheticals and exaggeration - because reality simply doesn't justify authoritarian, anti free speech laws like desantis' don't say gay bill...

still haven't learned the difference between anecdote and evidence yet, huh? obviously a science denier doesn't care, but you could at least pretend to make an actual argument by providing evidence of your claims - oh right, you can't, because it's all just culture war propaganda based on the intentional exaggeration and misrepresentation of a few extremes in a country of hundreds of millions, lol...

you have to decide fenderp

you denied that this shit happens, now you say its just anecdotal (of course we know that you are just too lazy), when there is a mount everest of evidence available

you may only choose one, but thanks for confirming that it is indeed happening ^_^

you can imitate the style, but that doesn't make the content true. you're defending authoritarian laws limiting speech by pointing to a made up cultural issue for which you have no proof or fact-based arguments whatsoever. that's why you have to deflect now: you can't refute any of the points i made.
you only ever pretend to be in favour of free speech when it's hate speech and bigotry that is challenged - when actual legislation to limit speech is introduced, you repeatedly lie and deceive to support it.

Parents oppose the elimination of merit based programs, the devaluation of test standards, and activist preoccupation with inserting racist ideology into school curriculum. Stop advocating for these things and you'll see the outrage disappear. The "blame parent" schtick is really unlikely to succeed.

If I engage in political activism in the workplace, I'll be justifiably fired. There is no free speech angle here, it's just a very bad take.

Kids used to have to pledge allegiance to the flag when I was a kid. Talk about indoctrination.

That's a really naive view. Tell parents you're reallocation funding so all schools get what they need even the inner city ones who need a new school because it's falling down and you'll get a million Karen's talking about how they're not racist but they want their dollars going to their kid.

Parents like standards that help their kid and don't like the opposite. We still have super classist and racist policies in our schooling and white Parents don't vote out leadership because it isn't meritocracy
