The idea that poverty causes crime is about as basic socioeconomic theory as it comes.

Poor whites commit less crime than poor blacks or hispanics with the same income. Because of that, the median income is higher in the first population.

The only blatantly consistent cause of crime is single motherhood/lack of a father.

Life is extremely simple to understand if you don't assume neurotic motives to everything.

If it's crime that causes the poverty and whites do less crime but are still in the same income level, are you arguing that white people are inherently less intelligent and thus cannot earn higher wages despite committing less crime?

the poor whites u refer to are largely more rural where crime detection is fairly sparse, vs urban blacks where crime is under a microscope.
