Sure but you are in the POV of a high school student. You're not in the future looking back going through the high school actions again, and you're not some enlightened teenager looking for a team building experience.

Honestly you might have one of the most outlandish perspectives of competitive sports I have ever come across.

You either didnt play, forgot what it was like or were on some D level team that never had a chance at winning to begin with.

Sports for team building and character building isn't an outlandish take on anything. Of course winning matters in the moment but playing fairly and honorably is more important than winning the game.
If you don't agree then cheat, that will get the dub.

Also was my high school football team not good enough for you SBD? Oh no. I didn't get to state competition in wrestling I was defeated in districts? I must be such a loser for not winning that match over 25 years ago.

I should be more like Al Bundy and rushed for 5 touchdowns in that title game....

I said youth sports are about learning teamwork and building character.

Almost no one, potentially no one, disagrees.

it's a matter of winning AND character vs winning OR character.

although losing in an unfair competition does get children ready for the world. maybe we should make girls lose to boys, then next week boys lose to older boys, and repeat.

You say you respect trans athletes while you advocate banning half from playing and dismissing the other half as non competitive/viable.

no i didnt. i said i respect trans people, not trans athletes. i respect all people, i respect trans people as much as the bio females they demolish, and only one is getting demolished.

as to female to male, i support them competing against other females if they dont like going 0-26 in individual competition, providing they meet the testosterone standards.

Being trans doesn't guarentee a win. What an assumption. Plenty of trans athletes not winning everything. Nobody has even shown this is a statistical problem, just more repression.

Skinned the kind of gamer who doesn't play normal or ranked, and instead just plays v. AI matches.

I play Warzone Battle Royale. I don't hack to win, but I compete. My kill death ratio is generally positive :)

I don't tell my kids they're losers if they lose or encourage them to cheat to win.

My ethic has gotten me many accolades professionally and as a soldier.

I'm not afraid of meritocracy.

nor did i say it did, we're speaking in generalities given the context of a thread. ala a set of rules for overall fairness, not individualized absolute fairness.

if you're only capable of strawmanning why not just stop posting?

Sure they matter and I dont believe in cheating either but I also dont believe in your little life skill building speech is what should drive these kids! We as a adults should look back on our past and show our kids that its not about winning or losing its about the team building!

No. Let kids be kids who are competitive and let them play AAA, cut the people who can't play and let people play after school rec league where nothing matters if they don't want competition. Various leagues exist for a reason and you can go play mixed gender rec leagues at almost every school I have come across, even the very low population rural areas. There's no need to ruin 99.9999999% of the competitive population who want a fair competitive landscape for that 0.000000001% just because Timmy wants to wrestle girls.
