Saw him reading the thread - also saw churchgirl video on the massacre and was a little surprised with the harshness of criticism towards Islam. "incompatible with western society" iirc. I saw this as being at odds with the churchgirl on jsp that would chastise people who attempted to paint a religion, minority or gender with the same brush.

A "wall" wouldn't have stopped or prevented this tragedy, the perpetrator was a United States citizen. A law a biding citizen with a concealed weapon wouldn't have stopped it as you can't legally carry in an establishment who's primary business is the dispensement of alcoholic beverages under Florida law. I don't know if anything could have prevented it.

This is the real world kiddos, there are bad people in it that want to do bad things. They come in all genders, races, religions, nations, and they want to kill or hurt people of all genders, races, religions, nations and they really don't care about collateral damage. You can try to ban guns or severely restrict guns like they've done in the EU where there is still gun violence or have a pretty pro gun nation like the United States where there is still gun violence it honestly makes no difference except in the United States there is a much greater chance of a good guy having a gun close to where the bad guy's are.

The solution of making all Muslims carry a special ID isn't the right one, we would be just taking a step back to where jews had to wear a yellow Star of David on their clothing and couldn't do certain jobs, had to live in certain places, and where eventually rounded up and put into death camps because they posed a "threat" to a nation. There are plenty of innocent Muslims that are just as appalled at this act of violence.

What needs to happen is ALL threats of violence need to be taken seriously, more seriously than they are now to the point where you threaten to shoot people then you go to jail, period. I also believe conceal carry laws should be changed to allow more access for citizens to carry in more places. I also think people who are eligible should take the class and get a concealed license and carry. I believe that every school should have an armed school resource officer or an armed security guard on site every day while school is in session.

It actually does make a difference, no matter where you are the more guns are available the higher the instance of gun violence, which results in a worse outcome than other forms of violence.

Works out pretty well. That happened once in like... 100 years. In the US it's like once every month. Sometimes more.

Gun control won't significantly impede terrorist attacks whether domestic or foreign launched. It will greatly reduce general gun violence and homicide rates.
