yes, that would be nice.

ive backed up each of the 10 commandments with passages from the new testament.

please back up your 613.

prove that jesus meant you ONLY have to follow the ten commandments. just because he restated those explicitly doesnt mean you dont have to follow the others. and as i mentioned above, you clearly see that his jewish followers, even after his death, WERE keeping all the commandments.

show me where he said the 613, it shoudl all be in there.

no proof? sorry thats just how it is.

Ive got mine:

1:You shall have no other gods before me

Mathew 4:10

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

2:Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing in heaven above, or things which are in the earth beneath.

Mathew 4:10

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

3:Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Mathew 12:31

And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

4: Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

Mathew 12:11-12

11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

5:Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Mathew 19:18-19

18 “Which ones?” he inquired.

Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.

6:You shall not murder.

7:You shall not commit adultery.

8:You shall not steal.

9:You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10:You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.

Mathew 19:18-19

18 “Which ones?” he inquired.

Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[c] and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.

he doesnt need to restate everything explicitly. thats nonsense. he restated the ten because he wanted to emphasize them. that doesnt mean the others dont apply.

but while he didnt enumerate them, he did say to follow them: (matthew 23:1-3) "1Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. "

yes he does, he did for the 10, where are the 613, proof please.

But do not do what they do, isnt that proof enough right there, did they not disrepect everything but the 613 they used to control the people?

sorry, but thats nonsense. why should he repeat what has already been stated, unless he wants to emphasize it? the 613 commandments are already stated in the five books of moses, it would be a waste of time for jesus to sit there reiterating them all. all he has to do is say to follow them. which he does. (btw, though, in many of your quotes is love your neighbor as yourself, which is NOT part of the ten commandments, its one of the 613.)

for they do not practice what they preach. he is speaking out against hypocrisy of the time where people preached the law but did not follow it themselves, or did only to show off how 'pious' they are. he is not saying not to follow the law.

so its not a waste of time for the 10 commandments, but the rest of the nonsense is? im not buying it.

i need proof.

clearly he felt that love they neighbor as your self as important enough to restate, unlike the other 613.

i dont interpret t that way, i see it as saying that that which the praises do is nonsense, and there is no need to abide by their trifle actions.

no, its not a waste of time because he wanted to emphasize them. theyre the basis for much of what he preached.

forget us 2000 years later trying to figure out what his intentions were and why he said one thing and not another. all you have to do is look at what his followers did to see how THEY interpreted it. and they kept following the law. (per the above quotes from acts.)

then why would he first say " 2“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3So you must be careful to do everything they tell you."
