Because national well being shouldn't be subordinated for greed?  Because there are more important things to life than profit?  Because you can't measure happiness in dollars?

Because I don't worship money and believe there is more to life than stuff?

I don't know, lots of reasons.  Because three yachts are not much worse than five yachts.

What would your ideal economic system look like? Or has capitalism forever doomed the human race to not living in teepees?

Primarily because it's virtually impossible to raise property taxes in California which severely restricts their ability to raise money for schools :D

That would cause a mass exodus and would destroy California. But yea, CA teachers get paid quite a bit more than most other states but our students don't see much of the money.

Sure if they raised it 20% all at once, but you really can't rise or lower it without something ridiculous like a unanimous vote.

We have a 10-12% state income tax plus a 9% sales tax. Then we have a high gas tax and really expensive property. I'm not really sure what they are fucking up so badly to be honest.
