Minorities do get scholarships and benefits simply for being minorities. I wonder if it would be the same if Caucasians became the new minority.

Obviously more has to be done to get the scholarship (write a paper, community service, etc..). But the first requirement is race.

Which is the point. The underrepresentation, rather than simply being a minority. Being underrepresented and being a minority are two rather different things.

Obvious statement is obvious.

Underrepresented does not necessarily mean poor or disadvantaged. It's also to try and even out the race ratios within a school/community. Again, getting scholarships because of race. That to me seems to be borderline racism.

And has to be from a genetically disadvantaged race. I don't see any scholarships on your link for asians or caucasians.

It's a reaction to racism, rather than racism in and of itself.
