Have you been to Pluto to measure how cold it actually is to get that baseline and benchmark, or are you just assuming what it is? If you have not, then how can you possibly claim it as a constant baseline for your benchmark? No, we have a benchmark because of measurable tests done here on Earth. That is why it is an analogy matching the date testing done (read page 1 and 2, I know, it's really difficult, but please do it.)

Yep, for all we know, Pluto is a sweltering in 1000 degrees Celsius and Leprechauns live there. We haven't been there, so we can't possibly know. And even if we had been there, maybe the information we collected wasn't representative. Even if it was representative, an outlier might still be the correct answer.

What this entire conversation boils down to is:

Science denialism.

This is not correct, samples are almost always sent off to labs to be tested, not done in homegrown labs. This means you've missed some key and crucial steps. Additionally, you didn't answer my question, which type of dating does this apply to? There are multiple types of Uranium dating, just as an example. They will not all follow this exact same pattern, because each dating method if a little different. Also, do you have a source for this? I have read lectures from actual college professors explaining the steps involved, and you've missed a number of them (namely, that when one submits a sample to be dated, part of the required information is the time period the sample is suspected to occur in, so that the measurement baseline can be sent as a basis for what the outliers are, at which point, they perform various average type calculations on the non-outliers to present the final "age".)

In other words, don't leave out the important assumption steps.

Uranium-Lead.
Collecting data would include being sent off to a lab to be tested. Hit me with any crucial steps I've missed in the statistical process.
A baseline is sometimes requested, however this is not always the case.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or serious. Was the virgin birth literal?

Did you see the word strictly in my sentence? I didn't say that The Bible should be read entirely from a figurative view. I said:

Stop trying to read The Bible from a strictly literal sense.

You have to know what parts are figurative and what parts are literal. This takes a bit of intelligence so I can see why it would be difficult for some of you.

I have added it to my edit twice now. Is or is not the sample age part of the data (form) that is to be submitted with each sample that is to be dated? Is or is not that date used to create a baseline for which all outliers are discarded, and then normal statistical analysis is applied to the remaining values?

And I have met your grandmother, so therefore I can calculate the age of everything on Earth. Don't you see the illogic in that?

.......... This just amazes me.

I tasted bread, so I know what bread tastes like.

I have been to space and felt the temperature, so I know what the temperature in space was.

Your line: I have felt how soft a dog's ears are so I know what the name of michael jackson's last album was. Where is the relevance? ..

Actually, your example is horrendous. Humans are notoriously horrible at judging precise temperature purely on how it feels.

If you haven't seen the circular logic issue here yet, I'm not sure else how to explain it.

Post #14, please by all means point out where I'm incorrect and not understanding. I am pointing out the assumptions and circular logic. I know this is difficult to grasp when you're knee deep in your own beliefs.

But 'judging temperature' is not even an issue here. People die and have died when they don't wear protective clothing in space. Or is death not accurate either?
