My friend had this female pitbull. The nicest, sweetest dog ever. It all depends on the owner's actions towards the dog to NOT make it a threat to society. (my opinion towards people's opinions on pit bulls)

Unfortunately, the dog has passed away.



I can understand OP's fear, specially since a child was involved. Some dogs are dangerous and there obviously have been proof of that. All dogs should be leashed regardless if the owner thinks it won't bite. You can't make assumptions, you don't know WHAT could set the dog off.

ya cause im the one that actually knows about dog behavior. i called this guys prejudice right off on the breed and he admitted to it. the situation was blown far out of context due to the dogs breed not its actions. he was at least smart enough not to attack the dog. people who don't understand dog behavior are the reasons these incidents happen. ignorance on part of the owner and those on the other end are almost always to blame.
