I think I understand, I mean I completely believe that trans people should be treated with the same respect and dignity as anyone else, but I believe very strongly that enabling their delusion harms them
All the noise has made it difficult to not conflate things
Do you know any transgender people personally? Look at it from a religious perspective. If someone were to tell a Christian their God and beliefs are a "delusion" and enabling a space that allows them to feel comfortable being a Christian actively harms them because they come from a strict secular ideology.. would you consider that helpful to anyone?
Transgender people go through a lot. The harmful aspects that transgender people face are more often hatred expressed towards them rather than some self-inflicted ones or re-affirming care that is provided. Are there cases where there are people who regret going through hormone therapy and such? Yes. But you can find more, a lot more, transgender people who are happy with their changes they made to their lives.
As for transgender people in sports I don't really know how to argue for or against this one. For one, people often forget about FtM (female to male) transitions. Most people think of transgenderism as male-to-female. But I do believe the sports and bathroom arguments come from a position of bad faith. Transgender people are such a minuscule part of our population and as to why there are so many right-wing news outlets and outrage targeted towards a harmless teeny tiny percent of our population makes no sense to me. It's a distraction issue. It isn't a real problem. It's a way for rich people to get us to argue about something really unimportant in the grand scheme of things so they can get away with bullshit.
