If policies will never change and the outcome of elections is irrelevant - why even bother with all of this and post in this sub? I really dont mean this as an offense, I'm genuinely curious: if you have such a hyper-fatalistic view on current politics, why even waste time and energy thinking and posting about it?
Thus the problem with simplistic arguments.
Sure, it's possible that another Trump term results in enough conservative justices to overturn Roe. I still think it's unlikely. But there's a lot of social conservatives who pull the trigger on whoever the Republican nominee is and totally discount the Democratic one every year simply because of abortion. And they've done that for decades, which is completely insane.
I'm not arguing that policies can't change and elections don't matter, just that it's important to think realistically about what a president can do once in office. It's highly unlikely Warren is going to be able to pass any of her big proposals, especially considering the biggest one(Medicare for all) relies on a (likely unconstitutional) wealth tax and comprehensive immigration reform.
Anyway, I like politics and think it's important to stay informed. Plus it's fun to debate certain topics.
