even if the costs arent a problem, they are still additional and unnecessary costs. why deal with the costs and all the trouble when the military can just as well recruit 2500 "cisgenders"?

Recruitment is free? Unnecessary is objective?

I think it's easier to make the case that a single bomb is less needed, and I'm sure the costs are comparable.

The sunk costs of discharging people who have been serving for years, have already been through training, etc is far more.

i dont deny that a lot more money is wasted on a lot of occasions in the military. doesnt change the fact that recruiting transgenders instead of cisgenders causes additional costs.

Additional compared to never having allowed them, sure. Additional compared to banning them now, maybe maybe not.
