People have a right to be fat, duffman. Their fatness doesn't affect you or your freedums in the slightest; or at least to the extent where you would be this hostile to someone with a bit of flab. So what's the deal bro?

the problem is i end up paying for their gluttony in the end
it was fine when it was a minor issue and society frowned upon such repulsive eating habits but we now live in a time where obesity is skyrocketing and obesity is glorified as perfectly healthy (see the show on the first page)

That explains all of the threads about smokers and people who skip their yearly checkups

if your fat fingers could wield a mouse adequately to sift through the past 137 pages you'd see i've covered smokers already
they're in the same boat as fat people but society tolerates and promotes discrimination against smokers while coddling fat people telling people like you that there's nothing wrong with being 400 pounds

Smokers pay taxes of ~10$ per pack here.
Smoking is also portrayed in an extremely negative health wise way in virtually every way possible.

Members of nine-year-old Alex Doiron's family in Shediac, N.B., say they're dumbfounded after the boy was rejected from their health insurance plan due to his "build," a decision now being re-examined following a CBC inquiry.

Doiron's family has been without health insurance since January.

At 5-foot-2, Alex weighs 135 pounds.

His mother, Josée Doiron, says she is "outraged, hurt, disappointed and dumbfounded that this actually happened."

Wait... you're actually serious now?

There is no such proof because the two have nothing to do with each other. That's like saying unicorns exist because of the first law of thermodynamics, and then challenging me to find a counter-argument. The laws of thermodynamics are about energy as such, and have nothing to do with the energy the human body can extract from food by digesting it. Both are called "energy" but the laws of energy as a whole have nothing to do with the nutritional value that we happen to call "energy" as well. If all atomic energy in food were absorbed and usable by the human body, eating 1 apple would be sufficient to last a lifetime and then some.

The fact that you use the laws of thermodynamics in an argument about nutrition shows that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and you're just pulling in "proof" from stuff you've heard without ever really having questioned or understood it.

That's exactly my point. I'm glad we can finally agree that the law of thermodynamics has nothing to do with nutrition and/or body weight.

Oh shut the fuck up. You like to get hung up on the tiniest of details.

It was pretty clear what he meant. Instead you want to detour into semantics.

Kid isn't even that fat. Not surprised health insurance companies are still trying to rob people. My mom paid into her health insurance policy for over 20 years and when she developed an aggressive brain tumor they (Anthem/Blue Shield) put a team of lawyers on it to prove it was a preexisting condition. No way to really fight that. Watched my parents go bankrupt before they died because insurance didn't cover the chemotherapy, radiation, or brain surgery, so my dad got to lose his spouse of almost 40 years and his home before he drank himself into oblivion and killed himself.

This story plays out in homes across America, and if it hasn't happened to somebody you love you are very fortunate.

Universal health care or bust.

i was thinking they judged him by age to weight instead of considering his height, 5'2 and 135lbs male doesn't strike me as being in the morbidly obese category though i'm no doctor

pa-pow pa-pow!

Btw, if this video has already been posted, no way I'm sifting through 140 pages of fat acceptance bullshit to find out. At the end of the day, who is more attractive: a fat bitch or a fit bitch? Can't argue with biology.

The semantics don't matter to me; the fact that he insists on sticking by his incorrect assumptions is what matters. He knows nothing about biology, knows nothing about physics, but god forbid anyone disagrees with him on biology or physics.

There are definitely people who should shut the fuck up in this thread, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not one of those people.

do you or do you not agree with my stance that what you weigh has everything to do with what you eat and to a lesser extent how much exercise you get and no medical condishuns make it impossible to lose weight

Let's cut through the bullshit, once again.

No, people should not blatantly shame fat people because people are variable beings whose life experiences, be they intentional or tragic, are subject to disorders which no one can accurately assess.

However. modern western society is experiencing a "weight" epidemic. In other words, we're getting too fat and life is too good.

We're simply able to produce and distribute too much unhealthy food for our own good. From high sodium frozen foods; to high-carb pre-processed foods; to sheer high caloric serving sizes. Amplify this by our increasingly sedentary lifestyle and you've got a ticking time bomb for a diabetic, high blood pressure, and obese society.

What duffman is trying to insist is that accepting an overweight lifestyle by making being fat or overweight acceptable, or even fashionable, is merely throwing bacon grease on an already hot fire.
