Yes that's exactly what the bible teaches, if you dont try and stop others from sinning u go straight to hell..... jesus would hate the idea of adopting those kids that couldnt get aborted, wouldnt want the kids to get financial support, etc. Jesus was 100% against welfare too i bet, he wanted the people to struggle so they can build character and was a big pro corporation guy.

when morals are selectively applied they're worthless. and we didnt found this nation to be a biblical paradise of god's law.

make it legal and let those who get abortions and give them speak with your god when you die to make their own case.

people who cite morals for their own personal stance are almost to the person hypocritical idiots.

Christian faith has been abused by hypocritical dickheads to obtain or legitimize their power for 2000 years running, so no surprise there.

It seems to have worked in Texas by just threatening a lawsuit. 50% less procedures only a month after the new law.

How did the numbers change in nearby states like New Mexico or Colorado? And couldn't it be that pregnant Texan women just ordered more abortion pills instead?

At the end of the day, abortion is like prostitution or alcohol in the sense that a certain baseline demand will always exist, no matter if its legal or not.

Additionally, a staunch pro-life position is a clear-cut minority in the U.S., if Republicans or red states overplay their hand on this issue (e.g. by trying to criminalize women who travel to another state to get an abortion), they will eventually pay an electoral price.

if a person really knows what he is talking about when he is claiming knowledge of scripture it should be easy enough to provide said scripture.
speaking of fiction how many crotch glorification pronouns are there now?

im happy to have never been around evangelicals IRL, but the blatant hypocrisy of the catholic church has always disgusted me. catholics are awful people, at least there's finally a decent pope.

every pope in history has been god's will, including the ones who condoned genocide and pedophile priests

Isn't the catholic church losing members at a crazy rate in recent years?

I'll take ordinary catholics over joyless calvinists or pious evangelicals any day btw. They are far worse.

Not taking sides, just providing what you asked here:

2 Thessalonians 3:10 ESV
"For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat."

I believe that book is attributed to the Apostle Paul, whose teachings allegedly come from Jesus of Nazareth. There are other examples, but that would be the most obvious.

To your point, it'd be easy enough to counter with some of the actions of Jesus such as turning water into wine, magically transforming 5 loaves of bread into enough to feed a massive crowd, etc.

Again, not religious, so not going to take sides. Just figured I'd provide a real answer that others may not be willing to provide.

able bodied people should work for their needs. freeloading has nothing to do with charity.

but what i was asking is for the person making scriptural claims to back it up with actual scripture. that shouldnt be to much to ask for.

"Jesus was 100% against welfare too i bet" (this is a statement by snipy followed by my inquiry)
("i bet" what do you mean "i bet" )

the catholic church is dying and approaching a serious issue. mega churches will not be sustainable, even with low to no taxes. they're not getting enough inputs. our local Diocese has moved a lot of churches down in priests and is begging members to volunteer for a lot of roles. eventually 500 seat churches with 100 person congregations will cause a serious crisis, and no one wants to buy a church because the buildings are hard to repurpose, same with schools. america is filled with schools that just have to be knocked down.

I think it depends the type of Catholic. We're extremely diverse and mostly non-white. Out of all the Christians, I'd say that we're 2nd best. Mormons are very clearly the best and are the Jews of Christianity.

Methodist is #1, and tbh it's not even close.
