Once we can properly harness the power of the tides there will be significant potential to start phasing put coal and gas.

Unfortunelty engineers cannot develop a turbine that can withstand the power of the tide without flying apart. Perhaps in some areas but they have been unsuccessful with powerful tides like that on the east coast of Canada.

It's only a matter of time though. Prototype after prototype.

solar cannot carry the base load consumption though, so we still need nuclear/gas/coal. and yes, hydrogen is a storage tech. I am well aware of that.

but we need a storage tech to replace oil some day, and we need a storage tech for all the spiky renewable energy produced by solar, wind and so on. and hydrogen looks the most promising to me for this purpose.

Maybe, not for cars but other purposes maybe.

You couldn't get the most haggered red light worker to touch him, not even with his grandfather's entire gold teeth collection.

As it stands now, energy production will be an issue if we've one day ran out of oil, coal, uranium and natural gas and the world population is still very high. But that point in time is several centuries in the future, so there's plenty of time to refine solar energy or the use of hydrogen as a gas replacement, and so on.

Or maybe we get fusion to work one day, which would solve all energy problems once and for all.

thorium is better anyway, more abundant and lower output of radiotoxic waste

Steve Bannon: 'Now is the moment' for Boris Johnson to challenge May for PM

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jul/14/steve-bannon-boris-johnson-theresa-may-prime-minister

Honestly, do you think Boris Johnson has a real future ? I think that even idiots are going to realize he's not reliable at all.

meanwhile in ceuta several hundreds of violent scum have stormed the border fence again, with self made flamethrowers and quicklime

i guess they are the skilled chemists and rocket scientists that we so desperately need, nothing to worry about at all folks

Nah, he’s quite popular among Leavers and some of the working class. Same with Rees-Mogg.
