Separation of church and state means ya don't let religious whackos run or participate in the govt.

/e Well, not just the whackos, but anyone who uses religion as their primary belief system.

The main problem in the Middle East is NO separation of church and state. The whole rest of the world has learned, that it never works.

Lol, I'm atheist. But I don't believe in politicians either :D
/e I did spend 7 years in the military though.

But what I said and then edited with further info...IS what the phrase "separation of church and state" means.

no, im implying that CNN is as hell-bent to spin each and every story against trump as breitbart is hell-bent on spinning everything against liberals/Democrats.

as I said: the phrasing in the CNN article is very suggestive and tendentious: "voting history" is - in my opinion - deliberately stated without further explanation to give the impression that the trump administration wants to find out who voted for whom, while they infact just want to know who went to vote in which years. as you can see in Knaapie's comments, this spin works just fine with those readers who are eager to hear something negative about trump.

so using the term "voting history" makes this a breitbart-like spin somehow? sry, but even though the left wing bias of cnn is well documented and hardly deniable, equating it to breitbart in terms of journalistic standards and integrity is outright moronic. but i guess this is exactly what trump intended to do and for some ppl it obviously worked... to me it just looks like you're desperately trying to construct something here to delegitimise this particular news.

so apparently you personally think the current administration's attempts to acquire that data is not something "negative", huh? interesting what kind of information you're willing to provide to the state based on completely unproven claims by someone who just can't accept the fact that they lost the popular vote... i hope this is just you compromising your values and principles to make excuses for trump and not your actual, unbiased opinion...

^^ Ofcourse you can have religious believes while you are in a government. Even policies being forged out of your view on the world. The separation lies with what the church preaches to citizens and what the government tells its citizens to be a fact.
Keeping them separate ensures more freedom for citizens to vote for their ideals and ensures that churches are more focused on teaching and practicing their religion than to move a religion towards a confirmation of government legislation. Becoming a propaganda tool through money.

Keeping them separate means you don't have a countries govt. running around yelling Jihad...or Crusade...etc.

It means the guys with their fingers on the missiles won't be able to say: My religion made me do it.

Youre making this up out of thin air.

Separation of church and state historically was an extension of the first amendment to protect churches from the state.

Churches are citizens with first amendment rights.

Most governors are refusing, citing their right to privacy and autonomy and that the administration Has ulterior motives.

Also ghee same people who were against executive orders are now okay with them. Hypocrites to the nth degree. Everyone who has defended this has gone on record against executive orders.

He has to be desperate to accomplish something....so far he's got nothing done. Obama was so far ahead of this guy.
