one of us will be right in 10 years, most of the pro iraq war people said the same things you did. Iraq wants freedom, they said. afghans hate the taliban, they said. temporary incursion, they said.

the loss of the abraham accords did 100x more bad for your country than security against hamas ever could make up. you could get security on literally all fronts guaranteed for 20 years and still be worse off.

We haven’t lost the Abraham Accords—they’ve simply been delayed. Now, after witnessing what we’re capable of, Saudi Arabia would rather align with us than stand against us.

As for your comparison between Shia Iraqis and Sunni Gazans, these are entirely different mindsets. And unlike Americans in Iraq, we are within their borders and will remain so until they stop—or until they are defeated.

We dont want security for 20 years we want to defeat our enemies completely

your enemies 20 years from now are babies currently. gonna defeat them? nah. people will get tired of the costs of occupation and rebuilding and vote in new leadership that takes their boot off the necks and then hamas gets enough room to rebuild. or iran moves hamas funds from gaza elsewhere and you're stuck playing whack a mole. that's already begun of course.

That is the price Israel needs to pay living in a hostile environment.
The Israeli public knows that.. oct 7 just verified what big part of the public said for years.

The civilian casualty ratio is 1:1, which I believe is the best any country has achieved in the history of warfare.

We’re not finished yet—perhaps we’ll go straight for the head of the octopus.

Twenty years from now, the mere sight of an Israeli soldier will make them tremble. And if not, they’ll find themselves rebuilding once again.

again, this is exactly what US citizens said post 9-11, yet here we are 20 years later and no one supports the wars except Dick Cheney.

It's not even the young Arabs to worry about for Israel, they've shown that they can slaughter them with impunity.

It's the young Western people. Young people, both left and right, are overwhelmingly anti-Israel. What happens in 30 years when the boomers propping up Israel are gone and there's an American supermajority against them?

Same as what happened in the US when public opinion turned on the neocons and a rising political anti interventionist movement rose up.

but it raises an interesting point, if we both agree the arabs pose no real threat to Israel then that legitimizes the arguments of the young western liberals.

from a historical standpoint, it takes on average 10 years for "consequences" to take place.
however, I agree with you re: the US and 30 years. As Israel continues on this path (for years to come) the net result will be realized with your timelines looking reasonable.
