I get that and which is why I preambled my post.

The fact of the matter is russia could take ukraine by force at any second. Russia has the manpower and military force.

This slow roll is just not that aggressive in a WAR setting. If you want to split hairs on 1 injury vs an entire city flattened to the ground then you wont understand.

e- Furthermore, that was regions in the world where this is their daily life, a constant state of war.

Well, I think Russia is trying to avoid causing as many civilian casualties as possible, even though this is costing them more blood in terms of the lives of their own soldiers.

Makes sense, they can't form a long-term occupation and they know it. The insurgency would be brutal, and costly. They want Ukraine to be able to rule itself in the after-math, only having been stripped of the fascist elements that couldn't be reasoned with.

Will other countries utilize this to perform wide scale cyber attacks under the guise of Russia?

Really no point to do so. The risk of being found out would far outweigh any reward for being involved.

You shoulda volunteered for Right Sector nazi's in Ukraine, honestly, sound like you would fit right in if you seriously think I'm a bootlicker for opposing them.

So many people that are hopelessly brainwashed...

I see more nazi flags in american news than I see in ukraine news. Weird how they are everywhere, but nowhere........

This makes some sense I suppose. Why level a country to the ground that you intend to absorb into the fold.

So we all saw that video of the giant explosion and fireball and debris over Kiev, lit up the night sky like daylight.
Official russian military sources and state media put out a statement saying their surface to air missile batteries intercepted and destroyed a ukrainian fighter jet

There's basically zero way to tell what the truth is or what actually happened at this point. For all we know it was a pocket of swamp gas reflecting the light of mars.

In your dreams. The last thing Russia wants is an Iraq-style insurgency they have to deal with for decades, with civilians constantly caught in the cross-fire. This isn't the United States we're talking about. Besides, the Ukrainians should be able to administer themselves just fine after the likes of Right Sector & co. are gone.

All those political groups that were formerly oppressed by Kiev, and opposition TV channels that were forcibly removed off the air by the regime? Freely allowed to operate again without fear for their lives or imprisonment.

They are going to bag those fascists, basically purge them from the country and get their security guarantee that Ukraine will neither acquire nuclear weapons or join NATO.

Then they will leave. Hopefully fighting ceases completely in 1-2 weeks, or so. Then a political settlement will come, and it will be over.

pro-Ukraine social media accounts are using pictures taken of injured and fleeing civilians from their military operation in 2014 in Donbass and presenting them as if they were caused by Russia in 2022:

Gleb Bazov
@gbazov
FRIENDS, Please track this down. I am almost 100% sure this is from #Donbass or even somewhere else. DEFINITELY not #Ukraine or #Kharkov.

I must say, that's a new low - even for Ukraine...
