...the idea that he dumbs down his vocabulary , especially when being interviewed one on one , is ridiculous .

Not so much during his interviews, but more during his rallies.

I think it is fair to say many politicians dumb down their speech when talking to large groups. You see Sanders do it, too.

Each candidate is trying to appeal to certain demographics and groups of people. A large portion of Trump's base are high school educated and members of the working class.

I think he dumbs down his speech a little for them, especially during his rallies and public issue statements.

I've heard he stops playing the character when he's not in the public spotlight. I guess we'll never really know. He's got an insane EQ though. He knows exactly how to play the game.

There's nothing objectively wrong with the way he speaks. He talks to crowds to relate to the largest amount of people possible. The average aim of a commercial reading level is 5th grade for the same exact reason.

We need to dispel this notion...

See above poll. Atleast in that one specifically his demographics are quite even across the board.

His vocabulary is limited, but he also has a profound ability for body language, persuasion, use of imagery, and parables. Im stressed to find much that a small vocabulary would disqualify him for with his breadth of life experience.

I wonder what kind of answer he is going to drum up when asked the questions that stumped Palin so badly. She was like "wtf is the Right of Return I can literally see Russia".

Then we'll know.

So sad when people parrot this bullshit that never actually happened. Tina Fey said it, not Palin.

If she wasn't such a nitwit people might not associate the phrase so strongly.
