I don't think they are allowed to do that. As far as I know their first order is to do their guard duty (w/e it is) as told.

But they are allowed to back up for a moment in advance, and get ready to violently assault a person?

Seems legit. That push was intentionally hard for no reason and not reasonable at all

We'll pay if you take in migrants, Brussels tells EU governments

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Commission offered on Tuesday to shoulder the cost of taking in migrants from boats in the Mediterranean, seeking to entice more governments to shoulder the burden after Italy’s new government closed the country’s ports to rescue vessels.

Under the proposal, the Union’s common budget would pay out 6,000 euros ($7,000) for each migrant taken in, as well as funding the cost of hundreds of expert personnel to help process mostly African migrants seeking asylum in Europe.

Italy’s rightist interior minister, Matteo Salvini, swiftly denounced the offer as far too little.

“We aren’t asking for charity handouts. Every asylum seeker costs the Italian taxpayer between 40,000 and 50,000 euros. Brussels, they can keep their charity for themselves,” Salvini told reporters. “We don’t want money. We want dignity.”

It amazes me that anyone still believes that there can be a system of immigration/asylum, that will work. The numbers just don't back up that philosophy.
The problem is at the source and needs to be solved at the source. Pretending that isn't so, is doing a disservice to future generations.

I agree. We need to do something about the war hawks that keep instability in the world for profit.

Right parties will be opposed as it uses EU funds to compensate for an unfair distribution of refugees and immigrants within the EU. It seems fair to me though and can be a bridge to make similar deals, like the Turkey deal. Other plans are focusing more on preventing the roots of increasing numbers of human displacement around the world. We are at a new high, around 65 million right now, it has risen at a worrying rate and is expected to rise further with an increased world population and changing weather patters due to global warming.

Will we become a world where ppl die at the borders/gates of Cath, the greatest city that has ever been and will be? Or can we technologically, diplomatically and economically advance globally that ppl will survive in the countries they live and find refuge when that becomes impossible.

If we don't find a way for people to survive in the countries they were born in, nothing else will fix/solve the problem.

/e ...any more than temporarily.

The problem is not the Paris agreement success or failure. The problem is that in some areas of the world, people are out breeding their land, their technology, whatever.
Countries around the world have offered help, have dumped zillions of dollars into reclamation projects etc., only to be defeated over and over by over breeding and unwillingness to assume the consequences of their actions.

Yeah, the US bombing the middle east into the ground killing the innocent and demolishing their homes.

Great help, wonder why they don't want to stay after 1000s of bombs dropped on them.

Lets take their resources while were at it!. That will help them self sustain.

This started long before the US showed up. A country has to want to advance. A country can't just keep doing the same shyt over and over again as population concerns indicate that they shouldn't.

Belgian lawyer launches Trump-inspired anti-EU movement

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-eu-parliament-bannon/belgian-lawyer-launches-trump-inspired-anti-eu-movement-idUSKBN1KE2BJ

Quote
RUSSELS (Reuters) - Two months after Donald Trump’s election, a Brussels lawyer founded a movement to promote the U.S. president’s ideas in Europe but only now has it become a vehicle for Trump’s former strategist Steve Bannon to attack the European Union.

Mischael Modrikamen told Reuters on Tuesday of a whirlwind relaunch under way since he met Bannon in London this month at the prompting of Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage and of a meeting of minds that is transforming the group he registered as “The Movement” on Jan. 9 last year to rally nationalists in Europe.

“It’s all happened very fast,” said Modrikamen, who is well known as an advocate in his native Belgium for defending the interests of small investors as well as being prominent in the Jewish community and the founder of the small People’s Party.

Maybe someone from Europe can read the article and explain it to the rest of us.

/e Like, is this a nothing burger, or something we should follow?
