I would like to take this moment to remind any readers about my great failures of prognostication in the past. If anyone on PARD remembers back to 2016 and 2020, I was first predicting that Donald Trump was a phony lightning rod candidate designed to soak up attention while the real republicans avoid criticism for a few months. Come 2020 and you'd think having learned a lesson, I once again made my great incorrect prediction that the race between Donald Trump and Joe Biden wouldn't actually matter all that much. Reasoning that Joe Biden was the most centrist democrat and Trump a centrist republican, that Trump's policies had almost all been implemented in one turn and Biden was unlikely to pursue a destructive progressive agenda, and that Biden would be a temperate and competent president who wouldn't change the status quo significantly. So I thought the race had low stakes.
Instead we got Dark Brandon, who fucked up every single domestic and geopolitical policy possible, plunged us into war again where Trump had brought peace, hypocritically betrayed his own covid policies, goosestepped his way into a totalitarian nightmare and tried his damned hardest to a wedge to drive into our civil society and inflame tensions as much as possible. He's out there doing everything the pundits wrongly claimed Trump would do.

Not contradictory at all. Getting to be in America doesn't mean you get to vote. Fascists like the MAGA Republicans shouldn't be allowed to vote but should still have a system that gets them what they need while keeping them from messing it up for everybody.
