for any of you saying it's not in any way racially motivated imagine the scenario playing out with a white dude going into the house under construction, looking around, and then leaving on foot and jogging. This is within the context of 1 previous break-in reported to police, which was a car being broken into. Would the response be to drive your truck ahead of his path and set up with your weapons? What're you hoping to accomplish at that point, a productive conversation?

I also agree however, if there's 2 guys with guns pointed at you, don't fuck around. It's a fight or flight response and it happened really fast. I don't think those dudes went there with the intention to kill, likely just to intimidate. The question I'm asking though is would that scenario have played out in the same manner if the runner was white? It's not really a fact, but I think if you are honest about it you can admit race is a factor. Does that mean this is a Hate crime? Idk. I also don't know gun laws in the US very well, In Canada it's a crime to even transport a handgun without first notifying authorities where you're going (and it must be directly to a gun range.)
