That is the definition of a live-attenuated vaccine, which hasn't been the gold standard for vaccination in like 50 years.

Diphtheria, Tetatus, Hib, Hepatitis B, HPV, DTaP, and Meningococcal vaccines wouldn't fall under that definition but are definitely vaccines
