That aside i think we have a very different view on things. I do not see that video as appropriate for first graders and neither did the parents in the article. Have you presented this video yourself before to parents and received support for it?

To your question though: I think it's important to clarify that
some parents took issue with the video, and not all. I would not ever show a video in class that has not been presented to the parents first, at least in terms of giving them an opportunity to watch it themselves and to address any questions or concerns that they have. I don't think the video in question is necessarily inappropriate per se, especially since parents (if the process is done properly) have the ability to consent to or opt their child out of the lesson.
