Trump will be president again, it will suck, economy is gonna tank and he won't know how to handle it and he will sack his cabinet secretary when it happens and talk about some conspiracy against him in Twitter and a bunch of people who are otherwise smart will defend him and it, and like they say when the economy always tanks during a GOP presidency and recovers throughout a Dem presidency that the president has nothing to do with the DOW. Until a GOP guy is elected into a growing economy again and they will pretend his business acumen is leading the country.

There is not really a reason to talk about this much more as I know the responses.

Excellence, back to Harris, reasons...she is black and black people might come out and vote for her. She is a tough woman who seems able to handle aggression from males very well, where Trump won't know how to deal with a woman equal to him or who has more personal power than him.. she isn't a frail model trying to sell him pussy she is a tough lawyer who has made controversial and tough decisions and could also beat Trump in an actual fistfight more than likely. She ain't a mail order bride and she ain't Nancy Pelosi. She would likely campaign in Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, other Blue industrial states that HRC ignored, that have strong working class bases, which is naturally Democrat. Her health care proposals are more gradual and offer a mixed state and private solution rather than just state solution and that is less scary to a general electorate than a shitty Anthem and Humana Medicare for all plan. I think interpersonally she would keep her cool, not respond when he called her fat, unattractive, nasty, or whatever racial slur he would use if it would fly, etc, and even be able to make a real case for the Democraric party moving on.

Yes she has a troubled past, indicating that she has a track record of working on high acute, high pressure situations, and decision making in those decisions, and then living long enough to have said decisions come back to haunt her. This is a great growing experience but only people who have wore the crown know it hangs heavy.

hope you had a great Friday skinned :)

just a couple points. one she’s a cop, to quote the officer ricky skit “nobody likes the f’ing cops” so that’s an uphill battle. sure she will get the majority of black voters every (D) candidate does. but underperforming here in the general would be disastrous for Harris, and her current numbers are quite alarming.

two, flip flop mania. she’s all over the place policy wise, most recently “i dont agree with the bill i co-sponsored with barnie”. and as I mentioned before she seems more interested at the moment throwing haymakers at big targets (Barnie, Biden, Warren prob next) rather than getting more people to vote for her. We all saw how poorly that worked for the people Trump dispatched in 2015-2016.

yeah she’s a strong woman that is in the prime age politically with political experience and who can look the part and quite possibly walk the walk. all that may easily trouble Trump, i don’t disagree there. on the other hand he already faced a much stronger and more powerful (imo) woman candidate last general election. while Clinton’s campaign may give Harris (or any other (D) candidate) a roadmap of what not to do, it will not give anyone the inherent advantages, clout, and electability that Hillary Clinton had. only Biden really carries that.

but thanks for following up and have a great weekend!

Agreed. Aside from the pandering to the religious right, Bush II mostly advanced a neoliberal, globalist agenda.

I know, and that's totally fine for me. I just wanted to point out that I really very strongly disagree with your assessment of Harris.

To expand on one point: you said that she seems to be able to handle male aggression very well - do you have any example for this? During the debates, she only got into a heated argument with Joe Biden, while the other male candidates held back out of a fear of being seen as "sexist" when confronting her bs. And when she ripped Biden a new one, he didnt react with aggression, he... basically, sleepy Joe made it clear that he'd rather go to bed.

Lol. Bush 2 and his ilk are the crux of the Republican party. They reelected him and they will reelect Trump. Same dudes reelecting both these turds.

Do you disagree with my assessment of Trump? Over head, don't know what to do, fire someone, cry on twitter, seems to be a pattern of behavior.

I feel the way about Harris after watching her deal with Biden interpersonally briefly. She would be a difficult cross interviewer especially to someone who isn't her friend and ally like a Biden where she had gloves on. Other candidates fear her and it is because she is scary not because "they are afraid to look sexist". That is your spin on it. Donald Trump would be alone on stage with her, and would not be able to ignore the woman; he would have to treat her like an equal and engage. The males on the DNC stage can use their privilege and get out of hard questioning as a group because of the sociological concept of diffusion of responsibility in groups. Trump won't be in a group and he won't be able to just ignore the woman on stage with him like the dudes you mentioned. And since Trump actually is a sexist, it is even more dangerous ground, so that is a political twofer.

The biggest thing against her is that she is a woman and the US won't elect a female president. I remember being young and in school and people would talk a lot about whether a black guy or white woman would be president first....who got to do everything else first? Lol.

Biden will get the nominee and his goal will be and ought to be (IMO) make the case for the Democratic governors, Congressman, and Senators, and try to pick up as many seats to turn this current president into even more of a lame duck on his last term, which is inevitable at this point. There is literally nothing that Trump can do to stop his supporters from voting for him.

The only way the Democrats can win is if it is like 70 degrees and Sunny in November lol.

Have a good weekend. Thinking about taking the dogs and hiking some trails. Need to put pleasant scenery into my head after the week I had :) I'm almost done with crisis stabilization I think. Gaze into the abyss and it gazes back and all that.

agree on the Biden point. will all depend on two main components: economy and how sleepy Biden is.

bolded stuff:

this is somewhat silly. not electing a particular woman =\= will never elect any woman

Trump already won in 2016 against Hillary the most qualified smartest candidate ever (per Obama and many others). Just because many lefties want to ignore this fact doesn’t mean I will stop bringing it up *LAUGH OUT LOUD*

sounds a good weekend plan, enjoy! B) :) :D

I do think there is still some -it's a man's job- mentality out there but overall they would. We havent had a lot of strong female candidates nationally. Queen tulsi is the best we've had and really she is just an anti war symbol for us dirty hippies and she would mainly just be a superb vp pick as really outside of strong antiwar views and being very pragmatic there isnt anything about her as a candidate that gets people too excited.

Nikki haley would do alright although I dunno if she would ever want to deal with the shit she'd have to go through.

Harris is a fake she has that same "it's my turn" arrogance. Her identity politics are nauseating. Itll happen and itll probably be a center right brown Republican

Masses in America love fake shit. Kardashians, Dancing with the Stars, Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey. They elected a reality television star law election because he plays a guy on television who is great at business. In real life he inherited a lot of money, acted so poorly that American business won't fuck with him at all, gets so entangled in foreign investors he can't even release his tax information which is one of the bare minimum things a candidate has to do to prove that he or she is serious. He is as authentic as a Trump Steak or a MBA from Trump University and he will be our president again motherfucker.

How often do you hear people talk about how awesome it is to work under a woman? Yes, I'm aware I'm misogynist.

And as Widow would have put it, I voted for Clinton while pinching my nose. I didn't like it at all. That night Thundercock messaged me "Ya nervous faggot?" and I was because it was Darth Vader vs. Court Jester. I've been kind of checked out of politics since aside from local stuff. I care about my city now . All the sudden I care about state's rights lol. I remember being a liberal during the Bush years and it was all "so why do you hate America?" but I guess we weren't so kind during the Obama years. Spoils system is a bitch lol.

Trump is fake politically in a rah rah America way and this appeals to people

Harris is a fake in a lock up black people, play identity politics, and try to literally talk like Obama while thinking it's her turn like Clinton kind of way. Middle America doesnt care about that. A woman can and will appeal eventually. I think there will be more black and brown women popping up as center right Republicans. Local stuff but also national. I think they are much more likely to get a woman into the office than the Democrats are. Democrats suck at building up women that will appeal nationally.

My best boss ever just announced he was resigned a couple days ago and have given me a lot of thought about my future. He is one of the main reasons I've stuck out my very difficult role for so long. That and I'm writing my ticket to greater things through what I'm doing now.

Yes, I agree. Trump isnt always acting this way, but frequently. Too frequently for my liking.

Nah, sorry. Trump doesnt give a shit about being seen as sexist, and neither would his voters. And as Beo has said, Harris is a phony hypocrite reeking of entitlement. She's Hillary 2.0 in both her agenda and her personality. Once the broader public gets to know her, people will be disgusted. Just like Hillary, at the very least 50% of the country would hate her once they know her well enough.

I dont think that the US is unwilling to elect a female. Yes, female candidates are probably met with more scrutiny, have a higher bar to clear, but it's far from impossible. Some journalist wrote in an op-ed after the last election: "In 2016, Americans would have been ready to elect the first female president - they just didnt want this person to be Hillary." That's a take I agree with: 2016 was much less the rejection of the idea of a female president in general than it was a specific rejection of Hillary Clinton.

Get some rest and enjoy your weekend!
