Now that indictments are starting to fly, probably a good time to nail down a uniform accountability standard since a lot of these people are (finally) going to have to face the music.

Raised this issue a little before: when do the crimes committed by associates acting as agents of Trump with his consent/benefit in mind stop being their crimes ("Flynn crimes," "Manafort crimes," "Kushner crimes" etc) and start Trump crimes? Unfortunately there's a real Constitutional question hanging over this.

The only question remains, is now that it's looking like Trump has nothing to do with any of this.... is how long will it take till Hillary is in jail?

Maybe we will trade France to Russia, to hide our shame.

Today's events should have steered you in the opposite direction: We got a little heads-up what was coming today, and even then few people considered the possibility that today would bring direct evidence of even more contacts between Trump's campaign and Russian officials. Yet here we are.

And I wouldn't hold your breath on Hillary Clinton going to jail. I expect this gong-show White House to run the gamut when it comes to straight-up falsehoods and gaslighting from the podium, breaking every precedent in order to coordinate with/subjugate the DOJ, issuing blanket pardons, claiming "maybe executive privilege," and any-day-that-ends-in-"y" Night Massacres, but jailing a political enemy on bogus charges might just be their limit. I don't think the team who humorously expended their political capital on Day 2 with lies about inaugural sizes wants to pick that fight.

Ofc, none of the major players will go to jail. But when the Senate Judiciary Committee gets done with their investigation of Clinton and the Obama administration, it'll be a loooong time before the Dems claw their way back.

This level of obliviousness really cried out for a callback to a classic. I gave you your chosen words, so you're either pleading gross ignorance on understanding how the American legal system works (among other things) or you're acknowledging that you practice IOIYAR in your little bubble, a belief you've repeatedly demonstrated here for years. Either option is totally believable (as is "both").

Except you didn't smash my claim. You completely acted as if calling the IRS scandal a nothingburger somehow addressed all the rest of the scandals I listed, not that it's a nothingburger in anything but derogatory alt-left monikers. In the two lawsuits they just settled, they paid out a huge settlement, and in the other, they admitted wrongdoing and apologized. You also failed to quote me condoning Trump criminality, even though you're claiming you linked to it. Perhaps you need to go back and reread what I said, rather than what you think I said?

Hasn't been a great couple of weeks for Trump Sr. on the "when do the crimes of Trump associates eventually become Trump Sr. crimes?" front?

A smattering of the revelations that have further pulled together the 4 key groups of 1) Trump's personal/business orbit, 2) Trump's campaign, 3) Russian instigators, and 4) WikiLeaks:

Each of them damning in their own way, but still really difficult to place in the different relevant contexts (the criminal code, political ramifications)

You didn't list off scandals, let alone crimes -- your list of grievances is a mish-mash of policy you don't like and criticisms on the implementation of policy you don't like. I don't like the Mexico City Policy but that doesn't make it a damn scandal. "Scandal" does not mean "shit I don't like."

You don't need to explicitly state "Trump hasn't committed a crime" to demonstrate your value judgment. You outed yourself immediately and just kept doing it using your standard trademarks.

Who do you consider "major players," and in what? You actually believe that Manafort, Gates, Flynn, and potentially others will walk?

That last sentence is fantasyland talk -- if that's where you think this is going you're going to be in for a rough forever.

Without checking the links above what i see since few days is:

Trump Jr & Wikileaks had a "deep" correspondence
Jared Kushner that "didnt give all the documents to the senate"

Now... What we know what Mueller know...

There's a pretty massive gap between where Mueller's team is vs. where his team "appears" to be, the subjects that generate so much discussion (that should have been the big takeaway from the Papadopolos plea). This is the rationale for wanting an independent commission in addition to Mueller: people who take outside manipulation of our elections seriously want the American people to one day know the full story of what happened, regardless if things fit neatly into criminal charges that are/are not eventually filed and litigated.
