Pretty easily. There's certain things you wouldn't want close family members to do, but you're cool with other people doing it. Nevertheless, I was raised in a society where young women dating older men was very strange, and I live in that society. There's a certain level of social awkwardness that comes with it, as well as the obvious difference between a 60 year old mind and a 20 year old mind.
Still, I won't criticize older men who have the ability to get young women. It doesn't necessarily mean that the man is screwed up or the woman is screwed up.
It was probably more normal back in the day because gender roles were much more set in stone. It made it easier for a 20 something girl to marry a 40+ male, because this girl would do the same things at 30 so it didn't really matter for the man apart from the fact a 20 y/o can have more kids and stays better looking for longer. Nowadays what the sexes do in life overlaps much more, which leads to qualities other than home-making, wealth and childbearing potential gaining foothold in the the process of coupling. The lifestyle changes, which also has an inevitable impact on social dynamics. Another question is why would an older person date less experienced, more immature people?
