People throughout history, far brighter, better read, much wiser have tried to cast doubt on Christianity and guess what, they had minuscule effect on the faith. I get you're feeling pretty sharp and think you have something new and cutting edge to share but trust me you don't.
Unfortunately for you mate, the great minds you're talking about are the kind of minds that brought forth the enlightenment.
They've had a huge effect on Christianity. That's why there are so many atheists.
The more we continue to discuss and spread the concepts of skeptical analysis and critical thinking the more atheists there will be. The more we challenge Christians on their beliefs in public arenas such as this the more atheists there will be.
It's not about coming up with something new. It's not even about trying to convince the person you're arguing with. It's about sharing the arguments against and criticisms of religion in a public arena.
As Richard likes to say 'planting seeds'. It may not be new to you but it could be new to someone else - or it could be that this is the time they choose to research and think about the arguments. A lot of people here are skeptical and rational people. They just don't apply that method of reasoning to their religion... If they did they would be atheists.
