The problem is that if anything changed it would be in their favor, therefore this whole argument is invalid, sadly. I thought the people were supposed to have the power in a democracy

in the usa , you dont live in a democracy , you live in a
capitalist democracywhich means , unless u have capital , you dont count
but ofc , its counterproductive to actually let those without capital realize this
also , changes to the system would probably not benefit those in control of the resources
if you look at other 1st world western countries , they are becoming more and more like the usa , and for a very simple reason
capital isnt localized as it used to be , therefore , there is no real bias for " national advantage " , as i can simply move my capital from one capitalist democracy to another ( always choosing the most favourable enviroment )
these " capitalist democracy's " must therefore vie with each other , in attracting the most capital to their respective states
and they way in which they do this , is to adopt " favourable business enviroments "
the usa is the most " advanced " of the nations in this respect
and any changes to that system ,would almost certainly not benefit those who control the most capital ( as the system in the usa is designed to give control of the state ,to those who have the most capital )
