There's been self-service checkouts since I was a young kid. I don't even know if they would technically qualify as AI.

But that's the thing, I'm in a field that should be something AI is taking over, but it's simply a tool people in my field use, and I'm not even sure I could adequately describe what AI even is. Could you?

It's not taking over anything that I know of. Still waiting for someone who can competently argue otherwise.

Elon is probably the best example of how someone who is very smart on some topics can be an extremely dumb person.

I work from home. Elon works from Mar-a-Lago for a month, or wherever the fuck he wants to be, which is obviously not at one of the companies he owns. He can't even follow his own advice, even though he requires it as his companies. He's such a douchebag.

OK, another analogy for you :

AI is like a mobile phone. it arrived, and over time, it got better and better and we could do more things with it. it took over from landlines.

It’s crazy the amount of completely trash spending is being uncovered in USAID. It’s also incredibly how so much public spending has been essentially stolen, many cases just of absolute unquestionable grift.

DOGE imo should be made into a permanent audit-like org that should just be a bunch of forensic accountants exposing waste and publicly shaming those that vote and allow it.Let’s normalize accountability.
